We've already dished on all the best-dressed ladies who graced the Oscars red carpet, but we just can't deny all the gorgeous tress trends that topped their glamorous looks. First up: the fail-safe high bun. Rooney Mara, Emma Stone, Jennifer Lopez, and Tina Fey all showed off their dome adornments in impossibly chic ways. Rooney went for a sleek, tucked-under ponytail with shiny, blunt bangs, which starkly contrasted her soft, white Givenchy gown. Emma opted for a deep side part and pulled her fiery strands into a big, coiled bun. She kept her hair simple in the front as to not compete with her Giambattista Valli high-neck bow dress. If you could tear your eyes away from J.Lo's curve-hugging Zuhair Murad gown, you'd notice her on-point, super thick (and tight!) crown bun. Tina Fey went for a messier look in a teased pompadour bun paired with her navy Carolina Herrera strapless dress.

Ladies with long locks were beside themselves (heh) on the red carpet! Busy Philipps, Stacy Keibler, Maya Rudolph, and Kelly Osbourne all opted for side-swept hair with their stunning gowns. Maya showed off soft ringlets with her plum high-collar Johanna Johnson gown, while Stacy went for a beachy, no-nonsense asymmetrical style. Kelly Osbourne opted for a retro lavender 'do with her Badgley Mischka, while Busy stuck with stick-straight strands to complement her statement earrings and Dolce and Gabbana dress.

SOFT BOBS

Chin-length hair is certainly having a moment—Cameron Diaz, Rose Byrne, and Anna Faris showed that short strands can look utterly chic and award-show appropriate. Cameron went the wavy route with a soft layers and a dramatic side part paired with her nude Gucci gown. Rose channeled Anna Wintour's signature bob with a neck-grazing cut and brow-skimming bangs against her sparkly sequin Vivienne Westwood dress, and Anna, who also selected a similar dress, debuted a super short blunt blonde bob and face-framing fringe.
