We’re about to dive headfirst into New York Fashion Week, which means that London Fashion Week is just around the corner. Our fashion compatriots across the pond continue to put on quite the runway spectacle due to the fact that they’re all about supporting young designers. As you know, mega trend retailer Topshop is U.K.-born, and they have partnered with the British Fashion Council on a program called NEWGEN, which showcases new designers every fashion week (they were responsible for introducing Alexander McQueen to the world, too), and this season they’ll be releasing limited edition T-shirts designed by London’s latest and greatest fash minds. There are soooo many good ones, but we’ve picked our faves!
Sold in U.K. Topshop stores (and online everywhere), each T-shirt will retail for about $48. We’re into the black and multicolored tee designed by Jonathan Saunders, which is modern in a Tron sort of way but also feminine with the vague heart-shaped graphic. We also love Holly Fulton’s New York-ish trio of buildings being “sipped” by a pair of phantom lips through a red and white straw. Mary Katrantzou has made quite the splash in the last couple years thanks to her meticulously printed dresses, and we like this hyper-color flower ombre T-shirt with black jeans and boots. Another fave is by Louise Gray, whose collections have a punk rock schoolgirl kind of feel. Her bright pink T-shirt is layered with metallic pixilated shapes that look like an ink test, rib cage, or just random squares and pyramid shapes in pink and mint green. Whichever way you see it, we say these tees are SPOT ON.
