In tween-dreams-coming-true news, the artist formerly/always known as Ginger Spice, Geri Halliwell, has designed a line of duds for UK retailer Next inspired by THE infamous itty-bitty Union Jack shkirt (shirt + skirt). But did the collection pass our especially high Girl Power sartorial standards? TBH, we were kinda bummed that the 2012 shkirt got upgraded to a sparkly above-the-knee dress (sue us for liking a little thigh!), but it still elicits a pretty prominent zig-a-zig-gahhh. There’s also an off-the-shoulder shirt for you casual cuties, and a bohemian-at-the-beach number that Rachel Zoe probably diiied over already. But really, leave it to the bikini to win back over our glittery gay hearts. Can you even imagine Katy Perry or Solange hitting up Coachella with daisy dukes and this bikini on top or what?

But we have to wonder, why this collection and why NOW? Geri said in a statement, “The Union Jack dress was my favorite stage outfit and with everything that is happening this year such as the Olympics and the Jubilee it just felt the right time to design an updated version of the dress for my range with Next.” Ohhhh, now we get it. Whew, we can finally crack open that red box of hair dye and dust off our sequined platforms sans any guilt whatsoevs. Thanks, Ginge!
