We're going to go ahead and call it. When it comes to People's Choice Awards fashion it's all about GANG GREEN in 2012. Vibrant shades of kelly, emerald, and jade dominated the red carpet on no less than FIVE lovely ladies who shimmered in all their jewel-escent glory in everything from fitted sheaths to lady tuxedos (Hi, Emma Stone. YOU WIN. Won? Yes, all of the above!) From Nina Dobrev's elegant cocktail number to Chloë Moretz's bright green, black, and white bouclé situation, we learned that green is most definitely the color to envy.
You know what's most amazing about the greenest of GREENS? It makes everyone look fantastic. There's something about the depth of this shade that seems to bring out the blush of a cheek, the twinkle of an eye, while simultaneously offsetting every kind of makeup moment, both natural and bold. Chloë's Proenza Schouler spring 2012 dress was black near her neck, but the interwoven green that ran horizontally down this kicky, youthful dress seemed to draw you to the wholesomeness of her face as well as her enviable youthful glow. We LOVE this dress with those ankle strap black sandals too, which seem to be all about emphasizing some serious toesies. Miss Emma Stone picked up the first award of the night wearing a WE-WANT-IT-NOW green Gucci tux. A playful take on a men's tux with a fitted green jacket rimmed in thick black stripes and held together at the waist with a delicate gold chain, we love that Emma looks confident and comfortable. Also, is it just us or are these the most perfect pair of black pants EVAH? J'adoring the peep-toe T-strap sandals, relaxed white blouse, and side-swept nonchalant hair. PERF.
Aside from red carpet host SuChin Pak and TV writer/comedian Whitney Cummings, who both looked gorge in green, Nina Dobrev caused a bit of a red carpet frenzy in her lighter (yet no less bold) shade of G. Her Elie Saab dress hugged the curves, accentuated the décolletage, and zigzagged down the arm via the lightest swath of nude netting. This is a simple yet elegant dress that works with the white sandal pumps (sandals were everywhere!) and mega-ironed hair. I mean, just look at her. BEAUTIFUL. Flawless. And just like her BF Ian Somerhalder said via his Twitter feed,"Congratulations Nina!!! You won!!! People DO like you." We do. We really, really do. Signed, the #GreenGang. (Because you know we're wearing nothin' but green from here on out.)
