Holiday gift-giving season is a whole different beast of anxiety-making for me. It's not that I leer at the thought of swiping my card for the sake of others. In fact, the exact opposite is true. And there's such heart-palpitating fulfillment that comes, for me, with finding the perfect gift for someone that I almost wish it came around more often. That is... Except for the bank account gobbling Pandora's box it opens as I up my visitation to brick and mortars and ecommerce sites, like, eleven-fold. You see, coupled with a job in which I stare and maaaarinate on clothes and jewelry and makeup all day, 'tis the season that I wake up in a cold sweat every night from my quaking bloodlust for so many OBJECTS. And nothing in this world can thwart my gifting focus quite like a truly incredible pair of shoes. This week, Khloe Kardashian, Elle Fanning, and Gwen Stefani stepped out in the most deliciously covetable footwear, and there may or may not have been a casualty on my holiday shopping list as a result (sorry, Mom).
Khloe Kardashian wore this full-skirted mini-frock for her co-hosting duties at Friday's 2011 Jingle Ball presented by Z100. She paired the feminine silhouette with patterned heart-print tights and the black version of these crystallization ankle booties by United Nude. From their flattering rounded toe box, reasonable heel thickness, to the bananas web-detailing strewn across the entirety of each shoe, these lace-ups have been haunting my dreams for about four days and counting.
Elle Fanning turned it out at last night's premiere of We Bought A Zoo in head-to-toe Louis Vuitton. As if the laser-cut A-line skirted dress weren't amazing enough, we're obsessed with these triple-strapped silver-and-white captoe pointed pumps. Very ladylike with an edge.
Gwen Stefani also wore one designer for the recent premiere of In the Land of Blood and Honey -- herself! Gwen wore her own creations in this head-to-toe L.A.M.B. ensemble. The white bead embellished jumpsuit was balanced out with a strappy black pair of platform wedges from her Spring 2012 collection. Though the heels appear pretty standard at first glance, what makes them extra special is a stealth strip of mirror inlay just beneath the heel. WANT.
