Happy Twilight: Breaking Dawn—Part 1 Day! If you didn’t catch a midnight screening last night, we’re assuming you’ve cleared your schedule to see it multiple times today. Aside from all of the wedding/honeymoon/magical vamp baby action, we particularly loved seeing Alice (Ashley Greene) and Rosalie (Nikki Reed) getting more screen time this time around. It’s also exciting to see both actresses stepping out more in support of the movie. Both were recently in New York for a Breaking Dawn screening hosted by The Cinema Society and DKNY, and they both wore similar ensembles. Were these dual cutout dresses planned?

As you know, Ashley has been wearing a lot of Donna Karan lately as the face of DKNY, and this black and white gown was custom-made for her by Donna’s team. It was an unusual asymmetrically cut dress with only one black sleeve. We like the minimalist top half and how it’s juxtaposed with the edgier midriff where the black and white fabric are separated by a cutout revealing Ashley’s well-toned torso. The dress cascades all the way down for an old Hollywood type of feel. All in all, it’s gorgeous, and Miss Greene pulls it off well with stick-straight hair, natural makeup, and a lovely pair of Casadei heels hidden under the dress.

Nikki, strangely enough, ALSO wore a cutout dress but it was designed by Michael Kors and had some serious pop on the black carpet. Acid green is a tough color to pull off, but it works with Nikki’s golden skin, red lips, and pulled-back hair. The dress is a halter shape and the cutouts are actually part of a completely bare back and are accentuated with thick black outlines. Nikki paired the dress with some killer Giuseppe Zanotti heels (also hidden with the long length). Both dresses benefit from having slits up the leg, which keep the looks from being too fabric-y (we’re talking to you, Amber Heard), but if there’s any way to make a dress truly stand out, it’s with the best accessory of all—a SMILE. Nice work, lady vamps!
