Now that Halloween has passed, the growing chill in the air is a constant reminder of the impending holiday season! Along with exorbitant amounts of food (which may sometimes bring about a sudden albeit fleeting urge to reevaluate the style merits of elastic waistbands), it signals a lot of upcoming merry-making. From cocktail parties to ugly sweater soirees to ushering in the New Year, you’ll need to secure yourself more than a few party-ready frocks. One of our favorite looks of the season and an always appropriate holiday staple is the sequined party dress and we found three ladies who wear it well!

Doina Ciobanu of The Golden Diamonds
Moldova-based blogger Doina may just be a student right now, but she has all the poise and the keen style eye of a long-time professional clothier. Her personal aesthetic is very polished, very classy, and gracefully toes the line between inventive and accessible. We love this black-and-gold sequined dress with its modest hemline and show-stopping feather-like shoulder details. We also appreciate her balance of the glitzy frock with a structured natural weave clutch, simple black pumps, and an easy hairstyle.

Shareen Sarwar of Vintage Mavens
Blog: Twitter: @VintageMavens.
Florida-based blogger Shareen runs her own online store where you can actually BUY this amazing harlequin sequined mini she’s wearing. You certainly don’t have to wear it with galoshes like Shareen does here (they’re her mom’s, BTW), but if you wanted to, it totally works!

Mayo of Mellow Mayoness
If we could feature Mayo’s cutesy quirky style every week, believe us, we would. She never fails to deliver as far as interesting and BRIGHT color combinations go, and her fearless wielding of the visible socks trend is truly admirable. In this look, she wears a curveball Romwe vest UNDERNEATH this fabulous multicolored sequined dress from Seibu. The sleeveless frock is decorated with an intricate Bird-of-Paradise-like design and features a flatteringly slouchy, slightly dropped waistline. Mayo grounds the attention-grabbing ensemble with an elephant-shaped Kate Spade basket, cork wedges by Red Valentino, and a pair of neon pink H&M socks. *cue chorus of ’AWW’s*
