Celebrated shoe designer Christian Louboutin hosted a cocktail party at Barney’s New York that attracted all manner of well-heeled ladies (and gents in ladies’ heels, but we’ll get to that in a sec) ready to show off their finest footsies. Along with the perennially black-clad dynamic duo that is Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Blake Lively blasted the black carpet with her brand of insouciant sunshine, and The Blonds jazzed it out in tuxedo revelry. They were all rocking Loubs, too—some even of the animal-themed variety, specifically LION PAWS.

So, let’s begin with the Olsens wearing quintessential black, all layered up and cozy-like, with some leather leggings and gorilla hair (please let it be fake) all thrown up into the mix. These girls are never not tricked out, y’know? It’s annoying in a wonderful way because we’ll never be able to afford even an eighth of a paint chip from their delicate pinky fingers, but their ensembles are always so textural and monochromatic that it’s easy to re-create them with pieces suited to a more modest budget. Since we’re on the subject, do you know what’s really not in our budget? Ashley’s Loubbie Mikaraja Flats with honest-to-goodness, heavens to Betsey, BEADED TASSELS. (Sigh, WANT.) Mary-Kate added some height and color to her ensemble with Dahlia Pony Boots and a matching bag. Both are hittin’ it outta the fancy park here.

OK, hi, Blake LIVELY. You’re so full of flower petal goodness in that sassy Dolce & Gabbana lingerie number that we’re sure you were given a lot of numbers by the time the evening was through. (Har har.) You can’t really go wrong with a fitted slip dress and rivers of blonde, can you? Nope. Blake’s feet were adorned in Pigalle Snakeskin Pumps that we think would look great with an all-black dress or suit. A classic shoe with an untraditional print or texture is great in any wardrobe. We don’t know if we can say the same about Phillipe Blond’s Alex Lion Paw Pumps, though. Don’t get us wrong, he looks AMAZE in that tuxedo with his platinum mane and gorge tuxedo that we want to wear all throughout the holidays, but the paws give us pause. We’ve already discussed the terror induced by the Louboutin paws and hooves collection, and our minds remain unchanged in this recent incarnation. We would have preferred he wear Blake’s Pigalle’s instead. Or these puppies right here.
