Miss Emma Watson is starring in the upcoming film The Perks of Being a Wallflower, based on the beloved emo-tortured teen novel, and the first official photos have arrived! Co-starring super cute Logan Lerman and Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev, the film centers around an awkward teen in Pittsburgh in the early 1990s. Emma plays the love interest (obvs, duh, she’s a Midnight Rose isn’t she?), and judging by the on-set photos, her wardrobe is anything but wallflower-y. In fact, it’s very ’90s high school in the coolest way.

Sporting a varsity jacket, jeans, and grunge flannel, we think Emma’s look is totally ON-TREND. The varsity jacket alone was featured in both the Isabel Marant Spring 2011 collection (in pink and black) and is a highlight of Rag & Bone’s current fall collection. We love this look and think the varsity jacket could easily pair with drainpipe jeans and a fuzzy sweater for a rockabilly look by day and short skirts and dresses with tights by night.

In the second photo, Emma pairs a vintage-looking multi-striped sweater with black bottoms (are those jeans? tights? leggings?) and we-want-them-right-now ankle boots. The look is dressed down but cute and could also work with a longer black skirt or a denim mini and boots. It’s almost hard to tell these looks are from two decades ago (eesh, sigh), but the ’90s vibe has been making its way back into fashion recently, and really, who doesn’t favor wearing comfy flannels and jeans as a fashion statement every day? Emma apparently had fun filming the movie over the summer and told MTV News, “I’m having the time of my life!” We can’t WAIT to see the finished product and are totes stocking up on Nirvana T-shirts in the meantime.
