Diesel Black Gold certainly knows how to make a statement, and this New York Fashion Week collection took it up a notch by adding bold pops of colorful metallics to its characteristic neutral beige palette—and I can't say I'm mad at it. Green, eggplant, and navy dominated the color spectrum, and this spring you can expect to see a lot of layering for those days when you're not sure if it's going to be 50 degrees or 80.

The overriding silhouettes are clean and structured, with exaggerated collars that harken back to the past, with the off-white color block swing cape + gold mini resembling a badass Jackie O with a dash of dystopian future. Many of the pieces are perfect for transitioning from a day to night look, as most looks included a light jacket. Also, COMPLETELY IN LOVE with the notion of pairing metallics on metallics. Due to the varied textures and the contrast of what's worn underneath...you too can do shine-on-shine without totally looking like an astronaut. In my opinion, TOO MUCH is just enough, and as you can see here, the silver top paired with the fitted purple crop pants is actually working.

(Click HERE for the uncensored version) The men's collection is the perfect introduction to metallics for dudes who maaaaaay not be totally comfortable rockin' reflective surfaces. It takes a certain kind of man to pull off the look, but here you see metallic leather pants paired with darker layers on top to even the still masculine look out. I'm also living for the three-piece suit look sans tie.

There is, however, one problem...and it's a HUGE problem...the footwear. Now, I've always trusted Diesel and I'll continue to trust them, BUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THE TEVAS???!!!! In my opinion, there is never (NOR WILL THERE EVER BE) a reason to wear strapped sandals (even with sexy metallic accents) unless you're a middle schooler at summer camp or an adult doing something nature-related, about which I can't even speak to specifics because...no.
