Goodness gracious, New York Fashion Week is still in FULL SWING, and we’ve got the under-eye party circles to prove it, thanks in part to last night’s soiree at the new Mondrian Soho celebrating a new film collaboration for clothing label Wren and jewelry label Fallon directed by Gia Coppola (yes, of those Coppolas). Tucked in the back of the new luxe hotel, the soon-to-open lounge, Mr. H, was wall-to-rabbit-wall (seriously, there was a GI-NORMOUS painting of an Alice in Wonderland type bunny) with fashion folk eager to check out the short film entitled “What’s Up?” shot by Coppola in sunny southern Cali. It was projected onto a curtain while Miss Tennessee Thomas (Rachel Antonoff for Bass Shoes model and drummer of The Like) DJ’d, spinning retro girl tunes from bands like The Shangri-Las.

The film tells the tale of a bespectacled girl doing girl things by herself like jumping on a bed in a frilly skirt or kicking her shoes off in the cutest yellow shorts we’ve EVER SEEN. We also spied a floral shirt and a sleeveless blue cotton dress that could easily become a spring wardrobe staple (that is, if you want your future warm-weather days to involve relaxed feminine dressing and California cool). As for the Fallon jewelry—which we here at MTV Style are bow-down fans of [Ed. note—Fact. Bought two new pieces yesterday afternoon.]—there was a gold link chain in one of the shots as well as various rings we hope are part of the collection.

Wren designer Melissa Coker was wearing a vivid blue and yellow floral print dress topped with a neon yellow cardigan that are both part of the spring collection, and Gia Coppola wore a multicolored print dress from the fall collection. Then, out of nowhere, it was as if we were witnessing the parting of the great fashion sea, as Gia’s aunt (and newlywed) Sofia Coppola walked into the party for a hot minute wearing a GAH-MAZINGLY simple and totally perfectly tailored (pretty much every -ly adverb you can think of) black pants and shirt combo rocked out by a shiny gold collar that had us, literally, glued to our corner perch as we took it all in. It’s nice to see the Coppola gals supporting each other’s film endeavors and even nicer that there are more fashion-y gal films for us to support.
