Beyoncé in a House of Deréon promo shoot.

Just in case the flurried frenzy about Beyoncé’s intimate Roseland Ballroom shows caused you to forget for a moment what a renaissance woman she is, listen up. And listen up good. NOT ONLY can she sing and dance her face off, but girl is also impossibly gorgeous and a creative and savvy businesswoman. House of Deréon has rolled out its first set of City Jungle A/W 11 ads, and Queen Bey herself is modeling the collection! B stood in front of the lens for the line she collaborates on with her mother, Tina Knowles, positively oozing so many classes of sensuous and with enough energy behind her eyes to make Tyra stand up, wipe away a single tear, and initiate a nationwide slow clap.
As high fashion, editorial-ready, and edgy designer as Bey is, do not forget for ONE IOTA that she isn’t that super sensual girl from the block who grew up in spandex and nylon-blends. With just one snap of Beyoncé in a Technicolor snakeskin printed blouse (with a hood?!), dripping in jewels and candy-colored lips slightly parted, we’re white-knuckle GRIPPING the edge of our seats with anticipation for images of the rest of HOD’s luxe tribal meets urban streetwear. Like those floral over-the-knee socks. SO GOOD. She convinces us that, of course, we could TOTALLY also get away with not wearing pants in public!! *glances at mirror and does not, in fact, see Beyoncé* OK, just on the weekends! She coaxes us into her gaze, enveloped by all that luxuriously big curly hair. And suddenly, what’s this? We realize we’ve booked flights to the U.K. for mid-September to be the first ones in line when the collection launches at Selfridges. To which she responds, “Whoops!” *wink*” and walks off into the sunset.
