We know what you're thinking—overalls? REALLY? The answer is: Yes. Yes, yes, and more yes. We're here to bust the myth that overalls are only reserved for farmers and fourth graders because we've got three shining examples of how to make them work. And not just like, "Oh, those overall are cool, I GUESS," but like, "Whoa. You're the best dressed person in this room. And you're in overalls. Sweet!" Let's dive a little deeper into these one-piece wonder ensembles!
Connie Cao of K Is For Kani
This Australian cutie (who we're convinced has perfect hair 365 days of the year. My GOD) took the whimsical approach to her overall ensemble. She wore rolled up vintage denim overalls with a thrifted white Peter Pan collar blouse and floral cardigan. Connie finished the look with some white tights and ASOS brown suede shearling-lined wedges. (Psst, Connie doesn't prefer sweating in the summertime in all these layers—it's actually winter season down under!)
Ms. Fitz of Ms. Fitz
There's really no one way to describe Ms. Fitz's style—she's a fashion icon unto herself, often mixing and matching bold patterns and fabrics with bright makeup and bleach-blonde hair. Here she paired vintage Mambo overalls with a fur coat and platform sandals. We're REALLY jealous of this thrift store find because we can think of a bajillion places we'd want to wear these bad boys. Also, visit her blog IMMEDIATELY. You'll get instantly lost in her endless eye candy and hypnotizing gifs.
Maria Confer of Lulu Letty
Maria hails from the Midwest and proves that those central states are still oozing with style. Her thrifted and altered overalls were belted for some extra shape, which she paired with a J. Crew striped shirt, olive Forever 21 parka, Urban Outfitters gray knee-high socks, and vintage L.L. Bean duck boots. This look SCREAMS fall (which we're already looking forward to!), and we're mildly obsessed with the too-cute detail of the buttons on her stockings.
