Tonight's announcement of the 2011 Video Music Award Nominees means it's finally 2011 VMAs season (which, to us, is a lot like the best birthday ever plus a sugar high PLUS that episode of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air when Tom Jones sings "It's Not Unsual" WITH Carlton and he's all, "OMG, you're my IDOL—this is CRAZY")! I meeeeean, a night to honor all of the greatest videos of the year across the genres? We love. But we can't help but be just the teensiest bit #sadface that there's no recognition of the most stylish videos, because the 2011 nominees have got it going on.

BUUUUT just because it isn't quote-unquote "real" doesn't mean we can't praise these exemplary vids just the same. Thus, we present what would be our nominees for this year's "Best Style" category, the videos that went above and beyond on the fashion front, that featured looks as high-volume as the tracks they illustrated: Beyoncé's "Run The World (Girls)," Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)," Kreayshawn's "Gucci Gucci," Nicki Minaj's "Super Bass," and Britney Spears's "'Till The World Ends." And yes. We realize it's all very female-heavy, but we're OK with that! Sorry we're not sorry, but our girls brought their (capital) A game.

Beyonce Run The World

For her "Run The World (Girls)" video, Beyoncé goes through a SLEW of wardrobe changes (ELEVEN to be exact). And we're not talking Leotard A to Leotard B to Leotard C ad nauseum. Bey moves seamlessly through a laundry list of high fashion from McQueen to Givenchy to Pucci, rocking accessories by Laruicci and Giuseppe Zanotti. Basically it's every red carpet event rolled into an adrenaline-pumped four-minute tune. Plus her bodacious physique, bananas moves, and unbridled rapture make it all that much more fun to watch.

Katy Perry's "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)" takes place in a world that knows no era. That's not to say that it's timeless (though, we will certainly still be watching this in 10 years), but rather it totally disregards the idea of "era" altogether. We thiiiink it's supposed to be the present-day (solely due to the existence of marbled Crocs), but the rampant throwbacks to the '80s, '90s, and early aughts (primarily by way of geometric plastic accessories, frosty mauve lipstick, and enough hair spray to propel a small spacecraft) make things a little hazy. Either way, we <3 Kathy Beth Terry's metamorphosis from turtle-necked j'outfit geek to neon Spandex teen queen.

With a title like "Gucci Gucci," OF COURSE our girl Kreayshawn was going to catch our attention. This vid, directed by the lady herself, embodies all of her real-life street style—the gold bamboo door-knocker earrings, the crop tops, asymmetrical hairdos, metallic fuchsia Minnie Mouse ears, and mad eyeliner skills. She may be ragging on highbrow, but we can put that aside for what is undeniably a snapshot of urban lady swag (pumping, as she puts it, "out her ovaries").

Nicki Minaj Super Bass

Typical to Nicki Minaj's style theatrics, "Super Bass" is a lot of stretchy skintight clothes, technicolor wigs, and gobs of PINK. Pretty standard fare. But then she whips out the blacklight chic—glowing lipstick, hair, EVERYTHING—and the synapses in our brains are firing at warp speed! Her beauty game is also on point with enormous, thick lashes and a rainbow's worth of candy-colored eyeshadow shades. Fake freckles? Yes, please.

 Britney Spears End Of World

Britney Spears goes post-apocalyptic in "'Till The World Ends", finding an on point glitter-grunge look that would make Ke$ha shed a tear and start a slow clap. She amps up the edge in a wardrobe rife with leather, fishnets, and heavy metal hardware. Not to mention, girl dances her face off and successfully remains perfectly dewy with not an expertly disheveled hair out of place.
