First we had Rye Rye boogeying for Prabal Gurung, and now indie dancehall star Santigold is cutting the rug for Alexander Wang. It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that young rappers + young designers = an innovative new way to present the most recent collection. While Rye Rye actually featured Prabal’s hyper-saturated looks, Santigold is hanging out with pal MC Spank Rock (one half of the Spank Rock group), generally freestyling her own moves and enjoying goofing around in comfy cotton for Wang’s video lookbook.

T By Alexander Wang is the downtown designer’s casual, affordable line, and the duo wear T-shirts, layered tees and cotton jackets as they show off their moves. Shot in stark black and white, the only real glam in the whole production is Santi’s glitter-heavy eye makeup. Not only does the video showcase Wang’s basic black garments, but it also previews a Switch remix of Santigold’s newest hit “GO,” which is a pulsing jam reminiscent of early M.I.A. No bright colors hereā€”just the blonde in Santigold’s short bobbed hair (which looks great on her, beeteedubs) and her twisted gold hoops. Spank Rock has his trademark glasses, and while this is certainly Santi’s show (and her song), we’ve got to admit: Spank Rock’s MC, Mr. Naeem Juwan, certainly is showcasing some pretty serious moves.
