P--Paris?...is that YOU?? Man, it's just that it's been so long since we really saw you last. So much has...CHANGED. In this month's issue of V Magazine, we're made to witness a transformation of epic proportions. Far from the girl we were first introduced to who was clad in head-to-toe pink, flippy skirts, pile fabrics and toted a teacup dog 'round a farm in enormous sunglasses, Paris Hilton appears in the mag's "Transformation Issue" hardly looking like herself! (Or what we've grown accustomed to/brainwashed as being "herself," anyway.) The article and accompanying spread titled, "The Business of Being Paris," delves into the more austere side of Paris that is able to emerge and flourish on her show The World According to Paris.

She gets down to real talk about the upkeep of her personal brand, and straps on some serious fashions from the likes of Versace, Azzedine Alaïa, and Junya Watanabe. And with that smoldering smokey eye plus that heavy blunt fringe, she looks regal and adult and anything but a ditzy coquettish heiress. Turns out she really isn't all effervescence and glitter body lotion, and "That's hot" and tinny jingle-bell-laden dog collars. Love it. Peep the rest of the very Barbarella-gone-Japanese-goth-couture editorial after the jump.
