I’m not even going to lie here—I have an Orla Kiely duvet cover. Sitting on my bed. Right this second. Yeah, it was expensive. Yeah, it had to be shipped from London. But it’s worth it to get something straight from Orla’s paws because her design aesthetic is BEYOND anything I’ve ever seen. So, of course, it was only fitting that I immediately fell in love with her fall ready-to-wear collection. When I stumbled upon her spooky, ’60s-inspired French new-wave video featuring her A/W 2011 collection, I was BLOWN AWAY. Not only does her clothing have more rounded collars and bold-print dresses than I could ever even ASK FOR, but aesthetically, her homage to Mod style is RIGHT on the mark. The bouffants, heavy eyeliner, and bright red lips accent the demure long-sleeved retro silhouette dresses, which give me an overwhelming feeling of Alexa Chung’s vintage-y style—and it turns out she’s actually a huge fan of the line! {Via Fashionista}
