Wowowowowowowowoowowwowow I love Jem SO HARD. I love being, all, “Showtime Synergy!” and acting like I’m harnessing the projection power of my earrings to create an all-girl holographic pop/rock band. It’s so awesome. Oooooooor trulytrulytruly outrageous, AMIRITE???? Only thing is, other than remembering that Jem had ridic long legs and the best outfits and flyest makeup (even though it was for her Second Life avatar of a frontwoman more than in IRL) I kiiiiiinda don’t remember anything about the show at all which is why it’s so helpful that they’re on the air again with a repeat of the FIRST EPISODE tonight on Hub. Like, par example of crap I forgot: um, did you know her father dies and leaves her a record company AND a foster home that she has to financially support? Weird. Thanks, dad.

And that basically Jerrica Benton (obvi, “Jerrica” is something I forgot as well since I’d have enjoyed the show a good 8-11% less based on that alone), a.k.a. Jem, creates the band and goes on the road to support both the record company and a whole house filled with ladyorphans? Nuts. I do definitely remember that everyone had mad ’80s names like Kimber, Aja and Shana and they played stuff like synth drums and keyboards. And that the Misfits were a little cooler even though they were rich-girl a-holes who called each other “Pizzazz” and “Jetta.” But definitely one of my favorite things about the show is that Gaby, the production assistant at MTV Style, who’s like 12, totally had no idea that Barbie & The Rockers was Mattel’s cold BITE of the Hasbro/Marvel-helmed Jem and now that I’ve set her straight she’s super upset. Lolololololol. Dream killing and dressing with style is WHAT WE DO *mustache twirl *. Check out all the showtimes of the OG cartoon here. Look-up which channel you can catch Hub on based on your location and cable provider here. And then dress EXACTLY like them with our guide since, let’s face it, the fashion was McGotes the most memorable part of that whole jam. {via Glamour} {via Hub}
