Movie Awards: A Fashion Homage To 'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part 1'

WHOA! Guys! Just two weeks stand between us and the 2011 MTV Movie Awards, which means we only have a fortnight to keep bringing you all the Movie Awards fashion goodness we have to give. We kicked off our coverage with the most-memorable style moments of this year's Best Female and Male Performance nominees and began offering up a series of Polyvore oblations in honor of the movies that are up for a lot of golden popcorn this year—starting off with Easy A and Black Swan. This installment focuses on this SIX-TIME nominated movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1'. And don't forget that you can watch clips and vote for your favorite performances here!

Unless you live under a huge slab of granite where not even the smallest sliver of light or the tiniest whisper can reach you and you've been rotting there for the past, ohhhh I don't know, DECADE, you know who Harry Potter is and you have a pretty general idea of what the series (book or movie) is all about. You've also undoubtedly seen and quoted 'Potter Puppet Pals: The Mysterious Ticking Noise,' which the post could have still made sense without, but would definitely not be as fun (WARNING: Do not watch if you/those around you are easily annoyed by repetition). Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 is the film adaptation of the first half of the seventh and final book of J. K. Rowling's series, and since the boy and his story are so super famous to the point where the two are engrained in our culture to very near the point of animal instinct, there's no point in summarizing here, so I'll just jump right into the pretty Polyvore FASHUNZ!

In honor of Gryffindor, the House of our three protagonists, we've featured a wine-colored rugby stripe Warehouse dress and vintage rhinestone-covered lion crossbody. The Elder Wand is represented by a JLRicci twig necklace, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named (Or-Typed-By-Superstitious-Editorial-Assistants-With-Over-Active-Imaginations) takes the shape of spike-encrusted snake skin Sam Edelman pumps, and Harry himself appears as a dark blue sequined bodycon with a mesh lightning bolt detail. Add a little black magic in the form of Magie Noire by Lancome and a bit of Laura Gellar eye shadow in a black and white pearled "Potion." And top it all off with some Harry Potter franchise merchandise: a pair of golden snitch earrings, spectrespecs, and a cassette recording of "Accio Deathly Hallows."
