The City may be canceled (sniff-sniff), but that doesn’t mean we’re going to stop checking for hair inspiration via Whitney Port. Here’s one breezy ’do we spotted on Whitney a few days ago. We asked Marc Mena, Garnier celebrity stylist who has also worked on Whitney’s amiga from The Hills, Audrina Patridge, to give us tips on getting the look.

John Frieda and Garnier Fructis products.

STEP 1: Blow-dry your hair, using a large paddle brush and serum like John Frieda Frizz-Ease Hair Serum ($8.99, to smooth. Section your hair into three parts (two in the front with a center part, and one large section.)

STEP 2: French braid the front two sections of your head securing the ends with a small clear hair band. “Keep the hair pulled tightly to get the sleek look,” says Mena. Use a wax like Garnier Fructis Style Fiber Gum Putty ($4.29, to prevent flyways.

STEP 3: Bring together the two front braided sections with a third clear hair band. (The third hair band should rest on the part that divides the back section from the front two.) Let the back section hang for a look that’s chic as well as functional — no annoying strands flying in your face!
