Prints are everywhere this fall, but if you’re over your summer florals and polka dots, here’s another one to try — tribal patterns. We turned to some of our favorite style blogs — Melanie Likes, Zarna’s Runway, and Pearls And Green Tea — to see how to incorporate tribal prints into your wardrobe. Read on for tips for trying something tribal.

Blogger Melanie Medina’s cropped vest is unique because it’s vintage. We love the tribal red pattern, and what really makes the piece stand out is the way she styled it — thrown over an oversize black Giorgio Armani top, and paired with a cute pair of oxfords and taupe socks. The way the whole look came together proves how she can play with proportions, tribal print included.

Nashville-based blogger Zarna Surti shows off how to wear tribal prints as accessories. She took green cargo pants by Divided by H&M, a gray H&M sweater, black BCBG booties, and a pair of black Ray-Ban’s, and threw on a burgundy and white printed Harolds scarf. We learned something important from this look: When using prints to spice up a look, stick to one piece, and keep the rest of the look in neutral tones, like army green, gray, and black.

Stay-at-home mom Jiye Lee took on a tribal print with a muted hue, proving you don’t have to wear superbright colors to make a statement. Her Tucker for Target blouse looks great with cutoff jean shorts by Paige Denim, and she completed the look with nude Cynthia Vincent for Target. We love how a structured tribal-print style can make any pair of jean shorts in your closet seem sophisticated and grown-up.
