With the intensity of beige looks that appeared on the red carpet this summer, khaki is definitely on the brain this season. This hue isn’t going anywhere! The question: How do you make khaki work with your fall wardrobe without looking like you’re going to prep school? We looked to some awesome style bloggers — Kristina Medhus of Pretty Shiny Sparkly, Blair Eadie of Atlantic Pacific, and Juliana Richardson of Sgt. Pepper Vintage — for ideas.

Blogger Kristina Medhus describes herself as “a petite Southern blonde,” and some of that southern style definitely shines through in this khaki shirt and plaid skirt look. The Obaaki skirt is definitely the focal point of this outfit, which is why the Ann Taylor silk camp shirt in khaki is so important — it keeps the rest of the look balanced and simple. She finished the outfit with Jeffrey Campbell’s Charli clogs in a similar shade as her top, and it totally works.

Blair Eadie’s Marc Jacobs skirt is the same exact color as this nail lacquer that’s so hot for fall: Chanel’s new Khaki Vert. She paired the skirt with a lace H&M button down and Pierre Hardy for Gap oversize bow sandals. The result? An outfit that’s playful and feminine.

Oklahoma State University student Juliana Richardson calls herself a “vintage freak,” and we dig her old-school style. Here she used a pair of taupe leggings to tone down her oversize flower-print top. A fedora, a strand of long black beads, a couple of bangles, and black high heel oxfords round out the look and prove that a bold print paired with a khaki separate keep a look sophisticated, not silly.
