The Top 6 Looks From The Venice Film Festival Red Carpet

The Venice Film Festival always brings out the most glamorous of gowns, and this year’s festival — number 67!!! — was no different. It just wrapped up last week, so we’ve sorted through all of the gorgeous gowns and narrowed them down to our top six favorite looks. Here they are …

1. Jessica Alba in Valentino
Jessica Alba turned heads with a stunning black Valentino dress at the Machete premiere. Its super-short front and cascading train looked gorgeous. In a smart move, she kept accessories simple with black lace-up Salvatore Ferragamo sandals and hoop earrings.

2. Natalie Portman in Rodarte
Natalie Portman opted for a bolder hue, wearing a red dress at the premiere of her upcoming film, Black Swan. We can’t help but wonder if her decision to wear this beautiful beaded Rodarte had anything to do with the Rodarte sisters designing some of the film’s fabulous costumes.

3. Elle Fanning in Marc Jacobs
The lovely ladies of the new movie Somewhere did their best to represent Marc Jacobs. The film’s star, Elle Fanning (Dakota Fanning’s little sis), wore a blue pastel appliqué dress from the designer’s Resort 2011 collection with a pair of Mary-Janes.

4. Sofia Coppola in Louis Vuitton
While the Somewhere star wore Marc Jacobs, so did the film’s director, Sofia Coppola, only in Louis Vuitton form (Marc Jacobs designs the LV label, too!). She chose a black dress designed by the designer (who happens to be a long time friend, lucky girl!), from his Louis Vuitton Resort 2011 line.

5. Michelle Williams in Jason Wu
As for our favorite beige dress, Michelle Williams’s Jason Wu gown definitely stood out at the premiere of her new movie, Meek’s Cutoff. From Michelle’s sideswiped bangs to the pretty bow detailing on her dress, this super feminine style really worked.

6. Paz Vega in Gucci
Paz Vega’s cowl neck number by Gucci was our favorite metallic look, a gown she wore to the premiere of her new film, Vallanzasca – Gli Angeli del Male. Also, the way she styled it — with sleek, straight hair and a single gold bangle bracelet — pulled the look together so it was fancy, but not overdone.
