So, you're growing out your bangs and they're starting to get on your last nerve. They get greasy all the time, they slap you in the face, they just...uggggh, hang there. We've been there and feel your pain. But according to celebrity stylist Oscar Blandi, who has worked with Keri Russell and Jessica Biel, there is an art to disguising the fact that your fringe is at its most awkward length EVER. Just look at how Natalie Portman, Jessica Alba and Milla Jovovich made the most of their growing-out bangs this week! Here, Oscar Blandi gives us his top tips for growing out bangs.

Natalie Portman pulled her bangs out of her face by tucking them into a simple braid and then spritzing the front with medium hold hair spray like Pantene Pro-V Fine Touchable Volume Hairspray ($4.49, walgreens.com) to keep the shorter pieces of her bangs in place.
Jessica Alba used her long bangs to spice up her style. "Instead of pulling them back, she let's them frame her face," says Blandi. She nixes flyaways with a little gloss, like Bumble and Bumble Defrizz ($25, bumbleandbumble.com).
Milla Jovovich flipped her straight strands out with a curling iron. "She keeps the pieces in her 'flip' together with a little gel," says Blandi. Try Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish+Style Soft Hold Gel Creme ($6.99, drugstore.com).
Tip: When you are growing out your bangs, it's a big must to trim them every few weeks. What?! YES. Sounds counterproductive, but Blandi says that keeping them trimmed will cut down on split ends.
