LBD doesn't stand for Little Black Dress, anymore. Superlong maxi skirts are the cute, comfortable update to the black dress look, which is why LBD now also represents Long Black Dress. This week, three fashion bloggers showed us how to wear the hot basics. Check out how they styled the look below.
Christine of Christeric
Los Angeles style blogger Christine rocked a black maxi skirt when she hit up the Big Apple recently. From the beat-up motorcycle boots to the layered tanks, she definitely proves that the long black skirt can be super edgy. And for her, DIY. She bought the black bottom at a thrift store, and cut a slit in it herself. The whole look is very downtown and looks like it came straight from the Alexander Wang lookbook, so it’s no surprise that she finished her look with the designer’s leopard Diego Bag (one of our favorites!).
Ariana Cabral of La Catrina
For a blogger who describes herself as a “Mexican girl who wishes she lived in Paris,” on her blogger bio, Ariana definitely has the chic style of a French fashionista. Here, she showed us how to wear a black maxi (hers is from H&M) not one, but TWO ways. We like how she paired it with a blouse and studded gladiator sandals for one look, though we prefer the more playful style when she wore it with a busy polka-dot print top and leopard shoes. So many variations!
Kimberly Pesch of Eat.Sleep.Wear
Kim of Eat.Sleep.Wear rocked the long black dress with a blazer, making it dressier, more conservative, and totally work appropriate, which we love. We also like how she punched up a monochrome look by adding a colorful statement necklace and matching large cocktail rings.
The lesson here? Rock your LBD with cool, colorful accessories and make it your own. We're going to buy one of these right now, are you?!
