Two of music's biggest acts will join forces on music's biggest night. Kendrick Lamar is gearing up for a huge Grammy performance with Imagine Dragons. Kendrick, who has seven Grammy nominations, will take the stage with rock band (and live percussion maniacs) Imagine Dragons, who are nominated for record of the year and best rock performance, according the NY Times.
Unlike past years, it seems that hip-hop is set to dominate the awards show. As we reported earlier, Jay Z leads the pack with nine noms, while Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are both tied for seven. Drake racked up five nominations even after winning Best Rap album last year.
This love is a far cry from 2002, when Jay famously boycotted the awards show by saying, "I am boycotting the Grammys because too many major rap artists continue to be overlooked." Tune in live to the Grammy Awards, hosted by LL Cool J, on January 26, on CBS to see how hip-hop fares.
