After returning home from the pen, Lauryn Hill is back to music with her first post-prison concert. The singer announced on her Tumblr today that she's performing two shows on one night at The Bowery Ballroom in NYC.
The venue is known for its intimate shows and has played host to the likes of The Weeknd and Frank Ocean in recent times.
Tickets are on sale now for Lauryn Hill for her 6:00pm and later 10:30pm show. Ticket prices are $106.60 (including fees).
Lauryn returns after spending three months in prison for charges of tax evasion. She recently thanked her fans for keeping her sane during the stint behind bars. "I want to thank everyone who wrote letters and sent packages and books. Because of you there was not one day that I didn't receive mail while I was away," she said on her Tumblr. "Many of your letters not only touched me but continued to confirm for me what I already needed to hear again: that sincere expression has a serious purpose."
Although fans most remember her for The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and her work with the Fugees, the singer/rapper has released new music this year. It's possible that she'll perform tracks like "Consumerism" and "Neurotic Society" at her Bowery gig along with her staple of classics.
