Drake Celebrates Nothing Was The Same Release With Wu-Tang

By now, everyone has heard Drake’s “Wu-Tang Forever,” a melodic track on his just-released third LP, Nothing Was The Same, that pays homage to the Wu over the Clan’s “It’s Yourz” beat. But now, thanks to an early Tuesday morning post on Drizzy’s Instagram account, fans have visual proof that Aubrey gets that same respect from the Staten Island collective.

In the black and white filtered picture, the “Hold On We’re Going Home” MC is seen in all black, leaning to the side in a b-boy stance in the middle of Ghostface Killah, who stands to his right and Raekwon the Chef, who stands to his left. The one-word caption said everything about how Drake feels about the iconic group’s long-lasting legacy in the game, “Forever.”

When the OVO’s head owl first leaked the Wu tribute, fans were quick on the draw with the negative comments. But when the Toronto rapper sat down with RapRadar’s Elliot Willson for a #CRWN conversation at NYU’s Skirball Center Sunday night, he shared that he had gotten a call from Ghost, praising his skills on the mic.

"Ghostface called and said 'There's this guy on twitter pretending to be me and talks down about you but you're one of my favorite MCs,'" Drake said.

So there you have it, the Wu and Drake are thick as thieves. That’s a good thing for fans, too, because there’s a remix to “Wu-Tang Forever” coming and yes, it features guest verses from the Clan.
