Meek Mill Mourns Lil Snupe On Tribute Track

By Maurice Bobb

Meek Mill is still mourning the tragic shooting death of his young artist, Lil Snupe, who was signed to his Dreamchasers imprint last year, and dropped a track, “Lil Ni—a Snupe,” Tuesday (August 13) night that pays proper tribute to the slain Louisiana rapper.

After a simple eulogy, “R.I.P. to my lil ni—a Snupe,” Meek dives into the Boi-1da and Maven Boys-produced track, masterfully weaving in and out of the beat with an impassioned, intricate flow filled with pain, sorrow and bereavement.

"They killed my lil' ni--a Snupe, my little ni--a was the truth/And all he wanted was a coupe, all he wanted was a coupe/So what's a ni--a supposed to do/Tell em put the guns down or tell these lil ni--as shoot/Cause they'll do the same to me, do the same sh-t to you," raps the MMG capo.

There’s the usual mention of watches, whips and women laced into Meek's lyrics, but that’s mere seasoning compared to the deep-rooted feeling of loss by the “Levels” MC, who goes on to reveal the lengths to which he’d go to have his lil homie back.

“I give up all of this money to get lil cuz back,” he spits.
