If anyone can stir up that old grime flame, it’s Ghetts. After taking time out from the game to concentrate on being a father, the much-loved grime MC from east London is back to drop off his debut album, Rebel With A Cause, through newly-formed record label, Disrupt. And let me tell you; he’s back with more lyrical fire than ever before.
With a strong back catalog of well-received mixtapes, Ghetts’ forthcoming LP couldn’t be more anticipated. In the run-up to the autumn release, he will tease fans with spoken word pieces, freestyles, and a couple of singles, the first of which being “The Cypher.”
On said track, the double-time flow master presents his three alter-egos – Ghetto: his younger, aggressive self, with a f–k-the-world attitude and plenty of braggadocio, Ghetts: his present self, one who is comfortable in his own skin and confident in his abilities as an artist, and J.Clarke: the reflective, deep-thinker. The treatment for the video serves his concept well. Watch below.
