Childish Gambino Producing New FX comedy

Childish Gambino is currently prepping a new album, but the comedian, actor and rapper is also set to produce write and act in a new half hour comedy series for FX.

The work in progress is entitled, "Atlanta," which will showcase the city’s music scene. Glover grew up in Atlanta and plans to pull from his own experiences in Georgia.

His personal career experiences in comedy, music and television should also make for a successful storyline. Gambino, or Donald Glover, is a regular on NBC’s “Community” and has had small roles in “Girls” and “30 Rock” as well as movie roles in "The Muppets" and this summer’s "The To Do List." His acting career coincides with his comedy specials on Comedy Central and his blossoming rap career.

Gambino has already released a series of projects including 2010's Culdesac and 2011’s Camp featuring hits, “Heartbeat” “Firefly” and “Backpackers.”He is currently signed to Glassnote Records and was recently featured on Chance the Rapper’s Acid Rap mixtape.
