Jay Z has been actively building up his Roc Nation Sports roster and sources say, that the rapper is helping out NY Yankee Alex Rodriguez.
According to the NY Post, Jay's extended team, including lawyer Jordan Siev (who reps wife Beyonce) have helped A-Rod with some of his recent career difficulties.
“Alex has been friends with Jay and Ron for years. It’s not unusual that they’d want to help or give advice where they can," one source said and then added, "But I don’t believe they are talking about signing him." A-Rod has been involved in a doping scandal which may result in a lifetime ban from Major League Baseball, ABC News reports. This may prove a liability and a reason for Jay not to sign him to Roc Nation Sports.
The NY Post shares that Jay and Alex are longtime friends who have even sat courtside at Knick games. In 2009, Jay rode on the championship float with A-Rod at the Yankees' championship parade and both Jay and Bey have partied with Alex.
Earlier this year, Jay signed NY Yankee Robinson Cano to Roc Nation Sports. "Because of my love of sports, it was a natural progression to form a company where we can help top athletes in various sports the same way we have been helping artists in the music industry for years," Jay Z said in a statement.
