When The Weeknd decided not to sign with Drake’s OVO label, it sparked rumors of a rivalry between the two artists, but this weekend Drake Instagrammed a photo of them in a studio together. The two Canadian superstars decided that it was time to set things straight and apparently collaborate on new music.
Dismissing the beef rumors as “definitely not true” in an interview with Complex, The Weeknd added that his actions could have be misunderstood. “But it makes sense. The thing about Drake is I told him what my decisions were going to be and he was down with it from the beginning,” he said.
Drake and The Weeknd have yet to release any details about the song they were collaborating on. Drake’s annual OVO Fest is scheduled to take place in Toronto on August 4 and 5, and we wouldn’t be surprise to see a guest appearance from The Weeknd.
