James Taylor Wins 'Billboard' Award
Mod rocker Rod Stewart casts a wide net on his upcoming album, When We
Were the New Boys (June 2), covering songs by everyone from Brit-poppers
Oasis ("Cigarettes and Alcohol") to songs by Primal Scream
("Rocks"), Ron Sexsmith ("Secret Heart"),Nick Lowe ("Shelly My
Love") and Skunk Anansie ("Weak"). Additionally, Stewart takes a swing at
songs by Graham Parker ("Hotel Chambermaid"), former Waterboys
leader Mike Scott ("What Do You Want Me To Do") and Superstar
("Superstar"). The 10-song album, produced by Stewart, also features the title track and a
cover of a song by his old band, the Faces ("Ooh La La").
