Mac Miller has collaborated with a lot of different artists throughout his career, from Pharrell Williams to Lil Wayne, but one entirely new collaboration finds the rapper in a different realm—fashion. The Pittsburgh native teamed up with clothing brand Neff, which also collaborated with Snoop Lion and Deadmau5 last year, to bring his signature t-shirt and hat swag to Zumiez.
The streetwear brand officially released the 8-piece limited edition line last week and Neff founder Shaun Neff told Billboard, “Creating an image is just as important as creating a hit.” It’s true that musicians often collaborate with fashion brands, and this seems to be a brand that really resonates with Miller and his fans since, “a lot of kids coming to my shows already wear Neff.”
Mac spent time working on the tribal-inspired pieces while he was in the studio working on his new album Watching Movies With The Sound Off (due June 18) and is something he is equally proud of. With all the buzz surrounding Mac’s sophomore album right now, Neff had the right idea to collaborate with him. "We were looking last year at who would be in front of the music and fashion world and Mac Miller was our top guy to work with."
