Snoop Lion And Miley Cyrus Bond Over Their Mutual 'Transformations'

An unexpected duo to say the least, rapper-turned-reggae artist Snoop Lion, and unconventional it-girl Miley Cyrus teamed up to drop, “Ashtrays and Heartbreaks," a new single off of Snoop’s upcoming album Reincarnated  and Snoop really thinks the world of Miley.

In classic rock steady fashion, the Major Lazer-produced track features a slow and deep baseline with Snoop solemnly rhyming about the losses of life everyone must face—from a break-up to the death of a loved one. “Seems like every day we're putting one six feet underground/So blaze - what goes up, must come down” he sings.  In contrast, Miley infuses fun into the chorus, singing “Ashtrays and heartbreaks/ I lost some, let's toast to one/ So raise a glass to the memories/ Set 'em free and fill up all those ashtrays”.

At the MTV Movie Awards this past Sunday, Snoop commended Cyrus for her work on the song, saying that recording the track with her was fitting because of similar crossroads they’re both facing musically. "It's basically what we are both going through right now,” Snoop told MTV News on the red carpet. "We're both going through transformation, we both love making music and doing what we do and speaking from our hearts and it's just a great collaboration."

With twenty one years in the music game, Snoop even went as far as to call the sassy starlet/ twerk enthusiast “one of the greatest musicians and personalities of all time”. Quite an honor coming from Cali rap royalty. Miley will attempt to live up to these high standards as she has been hitting the studio with Wiz Khalifa, Mike Will Made It, Pharrell and Tyler the Creator for her 2013 album.

As for Snoop, you can pre-order Reincarnated via iTunes now. The album hits retailers April 23.
