Since the 2012 Presidential election, actress Stacey Dash has been very vocal about her support for the Republican party. But her love runs deeper than we expected. Earlier this week, some were up in arms about Jay-Z and Beyonce’s trip to Cuba to celebrate their five-year wedding anniversary including the actress herself. But Dash didn’t shy away from expressing her thoughts via Twitter on the power couple’s excursion to the communist country.
“Do you care that The Jay Z"s have taken the capital you have given them and funded a communist oppressive regime?” she wrote.
Well the actress wasn’t the only one that had something to say. Jay-Z wasted no time addressing his critics on the Swizz Beatz and Timbaland assisted track, “Open Letter”, which did not reference or acknowledge the actress. He raps, "Politician never did sh-- for me/except lie to me, distort history/Wanna give me jail time and a fine/Fine, lemme commit a real crime."
Ruffling feathers isn’t new for Jay-Z. Tapped to executive produce The Great Gatsby soundtrack, he recruited his wife to do a cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black”, one that Winehouse’s father isn’t too impressed with. In addition to his music curating duties, it’s also been announced that his Made in America Festival is hitting a second go-around this summer in Philadelphia.
