Riiiight. There was a collective head shake this past weekend, first when Ray J teased his new single "I Hit It First" with artwork that seemed to be mocking Kanye, then again when he actually dropped the single and seemed to make blatant references to Kim Kardashian. But, Ray J thinks he's slick, saying during a radio interview with Hot 97 that he wasn't referencing the reality TV star.
"It's a song, it's not about that, it's about a concept. People going way too deep," Ray J said during the Monday morning phone call. "They just gotta keep it on the surface. I'm not trying to create no war, it's all love; we're doing music."
So this line wasn't a reference to Kim? "I hit it north with her ass going south, but now baby chose to go west."
"It's not a war, it's not a dis song, we're just having fun," he added. "Bring it back to the song. That's all I'm on."
