Lil Wayne has spent six days in the intensive care unit at Cedars-Sinai hospital in Los Angeles after suffering from more seizures on Friday, but the New Orleans native has finally been released and his YMCMB family are happy to have him back home.
Both Birdman and Mack Maine took to Twitter to let fans know that Weezy was on his way home after giving family and fans a scare last Friday when news broke that he was in critical condition after being found unconscious in his room. "Thanks to Cedar Sinai for everything!!! @LilTunechi has been officially been released and is headed home....God is great," Mack Maine tweeted early on Tuesday morning (March 19).
Birdman chimed in shortly afterwards, adding, "God Bless.my son just release frm hospital.thanks 4 all tha luv.YMCMB.Richgang."
While Wayne was hospitalized there were rumors that his seizures had been triggered by drug use, but Birdman dismissed them. "To me, it's just his work ethic. It's just how he put in and what he believe in and how hard he work, how much dedication he gives to music and his fans and what he tryin' to accomplish in life. It had nothing to do with drugs," he said during a phone interview with Hot 97. "He just needs to get some rest, relax, take it one day at a time."
During his almost week-long stay in the hospital Weezy was visited by family members and his YMCMB crew, including Drake and Nicki Minaj who came with a handful of balloons for her boss and close friend.
