Detroit rapper, King Gordy, was shot in his hometown on Tuesday (February 5) during what is being reported as an attempted robbery.
Gordy, who has built a name for himself in Detroit’s underground scene is a close acquaintance of D-12 and Eminem, notably having his debut album The Entity produced by Em and Obie Trice. He even appeared in “8 Mile” as the character Big O.
The 35-year-old was reportedly shot five times on Tuesday with tweets from his friends indicating that he survived the ordeal. “King gordy.. get well my n---a.. I'm praying for u... I'm on way back know to the d,” Bizarre tweeted after the shooting. Details on the incident have been scarce otherwise.
Gordy and his pal Bizarre recently teamed up to film a video for their track "Justin Bieber," which expresses some, er, strange interest in the young pop star.
