It seemed impossible that the lengthiest divorce proceedings in recent times could take even longer (considering how long the marriage actually lasted) but now the messy and complicated post nuptial split between Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries has another bump along the way. Through his attorney, Humphries complained that Kim’s pregnancy has put a bias on the legal proceedings.
In new court documents filed as of yesterday (February 5) via US Weekly Marshall Waller, Humphries’ attorney, is arguing that Kim’s urgency to proceed with the divorce isn’t what it seems. "What is really going on here is that an 'urgency' in the form of an apparently unplanned pregnancy, something [Humphries] had nothing to do with, is perceived by [Kim] as an opportunity to gain a litigation advantage by trying to force this court to prematurely set this matter for trial."
He also added that the pregnancy seemed like a ruse. “Indeed, why would [Kim] plan to get pregnant in the midst of divorce proceedings?"
The divorce has hit many roadblocks over the past year, including Humphries calling Kanye West to sit in for a deposition and claiming that Kim defrauded him. A source told US Weekly that “he won’t go down without a fight.” Also adding, "It's sad Kris is playing this game. Kim doesn't think he can be happy until he moves on."
Although Humphries is claiming that Kim’s pregnancy is adding bias to the legal proceedings, Kanye and Kim seem to be ready to start their family after the baby is born in July.
