News that Rick Ross was the target of a drive-by shooting in the early hours of Monday morning alarmed fans, as well as his peers like Pusha T, who immediately reached out to make sure that the Miami rapper was doing okay. Rozay had been celebrating with 37th birthday with friends like DJ Khaled and Diddy in Miami just hours before the incident.

"I don't wanna hear about that with anybody. I definitely hit him up like, 'Yo just let me know you're okay,' " the G.O.O.D Music rapper told MTV News of his response, upon hearing the news.

"He was just like, 'Yeah he's just layin' back.' That was enough for me," he continued. "It's tough out here as an artist and being in rap it's like this is the only profession where you don't really leave your core," he said. "You don't really leave your upbringing. You don't really leave that behind; you stay in it lyrically and so on and so forth. So it's like you can't really get out of it, you can't really get away from it. I don't care how much money you have." Police have launched a criminal investigation into the shooting incident.

On Monday Pusha dropped his anticipated Wrath of Caine mixtape which includes the collaboration "Millions" with Rick Ross.
