The dust hasn’t even settled on Beyonce’s sizzlingly sexy GQ cover and Rihanna is back to reclaim her crown as the “Sexiest Singer In the World” with seven different special edition covers—one for each of her seven albums—for Complex Magazine. The heptad of covers revisits the raw sexuality that RiRi displayed in her own GQ cover last year and finds the pop chanteuse in seven different sexy poses, displaying a wide array of barely-there fashions which range from leather to lingerie. There is, of course, the requisite topless cover, too, in which RiRi covers her breasts with polaroid selfies.
In the accompanying article, the Bajan bombshell gives advice on how to take the best selfies on Instagram and why she likes to keep her 4.3 million followers visually informed on her life.
“Get a good angle on what’s working for you that day,” she told Complex. “If it’s boobs, make sure you hit that. If it’s face, make sure it’s fierce. “It’s narcissistic, but whatever—everyone does it. I’m capturing personality... Everybody has their thing they like or don’t like to see. It’s all in your head. That’s why people take their own pictures, because it’s difficult for someone else to capture what you seek.”
Elsewhere in the article, Tyran “Ty Ty” Smith, a co-founder of Roc Nation, reflects on Rih’s 777 Tour, a seven-day, seven-country, seven-show journey, which was designed to kick-start her seventh album, Unapologetic, and fans, known as the Rihanna Navy, the largest fan base in the world (62.3 million Facebook likes, 26 million Twitter followers), discuss Rihanna’s strong connection to her fans and her down-to-earth candor.
“We don’t start the trouble, but that’s how we’re defending ourselves—by saying some slick shit. That’s how I’ve always been. I was so rude when I was a little girl. I got my ass beat by my mother for that. Most of the time it was because of my mouth,” Rihanna said.
Rihanna’s turbulent relationship with Chris Brown is discussed at length, as is her musical and personal growth as the "third-highest-earning celebrity under 30." Look for the covers on newstands soon.
