Following Thursday's announcement that Destiny's Child will be reuniting for a new compilation album this year, it's now been confirmed that the trio will join Beyonce onstag e at this year's Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans.
Us Magazine shares that multiple sources close to the group are saying that DC will perform a medley of the group's hits that will culminate with the new song "Nuclear."
It would be their first live performance as a group since a farewell gig at the 2006 NBA All-Star game. Destiny's Child has a plethora of high-energy anthems that would be ideal for the occasion. From the defiant "Survivor" and "Independent Women Part 2" to sexier cuts like "Bootylicious," "Jumpin' Jumpin'" and "Say My Name," there is no shortage of material there.
Nostalgic fans are already cheering the possible reunion. "OMG. The tearssssss in my eyesssss," tweeted a fan. "I was already spazzing about Beyonce half time performance at the Super Bowl, if destinys child perform ill be dead!" excitedly said another.
One fan joked, "So Destiny's Child is gonna have a reunion at the Super Bowl. Obviously Kelly and Michelle will be hold Blue Ivy backstage while B performs." What better way to introduce Destiny's real-life child?
