It was only a matter of time until another member of the A$AP Mob signed a solo deal after the crew contracted a $1.5 million dollar record deal with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records last year. A$AP Ferg has now signed with Polo Grounds Music/RCA Records, making him the first member of the A$AP Mob (besides Rocky) to venture out solo.
A$AP Ferg is now under the same label as his pal A$AP Rocky. Ferg’s first official release with the label will be the iTunes single version of his track “Work.”
“I’m just proud right now because this is everything we wished and hoped for,” A$AP Rocky said in a statement. “A$AP Ferg worked hard for this and I put all my faith and backing into him. I feel like ‘Work’ is our generation’s 'Sippin On Some Syrup' [by Three 6 Mafia and UGK] or 'Chickenhead' [by Project Pat, La Chat and Three 6 Mafia], it has that feeling.”
Besides working on releasing his first single, A$AP Ferg is also working on this clothing line Trap Lord. A$AP Rocky is set to drop his debut album Long.Live.A$AP on January 15.
