There’s nothing like a good old fashioned rap battle and not even the holiday season has stopped Meek Mill and Cassidy from getting at each other. The beef has been brewing for some time now and after Cass dropped “Me, Myself & iPhone” on Saturday, Meek fired back on Wednesday (December 26) with “Repo” on KarenCivil.com.
“Really, f—in’ ’Condom Style,’ get ya jig on/ You a clown ass n—a, put a wig on,” the Maybach Music stand-out spits to set off the Jahlil Beats-produced track, dissing Cass for for his Psy remake.
On Cass’ “Me, Myself & iPhone,” he chastised Meek for backing out of a proposed live battle for $100,000; to that Mill responded: “And you talkin’ ‘bout a battle rap, how you gonna handle that/ 100 grand p—y n—a? You ain’t got the tag for that.”
Though both MCs hail from Philadelphia, they’ve seen their star rise at different junctures. Cassidy dropped his debut album Split Personality in 2004 and then his unforgettable “I’m a Hustla” single a year later, but after a 2006 conviction in connection to a murder Cass served time in prison and saw his career halted. Meek rose to fame after dropping his 2011 single “I’ma Boss” with Rick Ross and his debut album Dreams & Nightmares came earlier this year.
Mill is owning the moment and hinting that Cassidy’s time has already passed. “I did ‘I’ma Boss,’ youngin’ set the summer off/ Now these old n—as mad at me ‘cause they fallin’ off,” Meek spit pointing out their age difference.
According to Meek’s boasts at the end of the track, he won’t be releasing any more dis songs, but we wouldn’t be surprised if Cassidy tries to set off another round.
