Kendrick Lamar sampled Janet Jackson's classic track "Any Time, Any Place" and used the title of her 1993 film for his "Poetic Justice" single, and the good kid, m.A.A.d city rapper is hoping that the iconic star will agree to cameo in his video to accompany the track.
"That'll be a blessing," Kendrick told MTV News Friday, of potentially having Janet appear in the video for the Drake-featured song. To show that he was serious, Kendrick put in a plea to Janet on camera, asking her to skip the middle men and work with him directly. "Janet, c'mon, Janet. No paperwork with the managers, contact the managers. This is artist to artist," he pleaded into the camera. "This is a young boy that looked up to you for years. Please, yeah, video, Janet Jackson 'Poetic Justice.' It'll only be right."

K. Dot is also at work on a short film to accompany his critically acclaimed studio debut. "We actually started the visuals for this whole project," he said. "I called it a short film before I even started the actual foundation of the music."
