Kendrick Lamar has proven he’s a force to be reckoned with in hip-hop, with his major label debut already certified Gold, but now he continues to collaborate with artists completely outside of his grenre. First there was Lady Gaga, and now there's Dido. The good kid, m.A.A.d. city rapper can be heard on the singer's new single “Let Us Move On.”
Eminem once sampled Dido’s “Thank You” on his 2000 hit song “Stan” and now she's teamed up with another one of the good Doc's protégés. The track has a stormy undertone and finds the Compton MC rapping about his rise from struggle. “And yesterday you could probably say there’s no hope for me/but today I’m overly dedicated. I’m supposed to be a testimony for broken hearts in the city,” he spits over the beat.
Although K.Dot’s album is ineligible to be nominated for the Grammy’s this year, it was certified Gold early this month after hitting the 500,000 mark. Where will rap’s golden child pop up next?
