In GQ’s upcoming Men of the Year issue that finds Rihanna posing nearly nude on the cover, Frank spews on his whirlwind of a life since releasing Nostalgia, Ultra on his own a year ago, becoming part of Odd Future, and even the liberating day he opened up about his sexuality with an open letter he shared on Tumblr right before his releasing his album.
When asked about the reason he decided to release the letter, Frank referred to a listening session held by the label in which he no longer felt the need to hide from it. “I had Skyped into a listening session that Def Jam was hosting for Channel Orange, and one of the journalists, very harmlessly—quotation gestures in the air, "very harmlessly"—wrote a piece and mentioned that. I was just like, "F---k it. Talk about it, don't talk about it—talk about this." No more mystery. Through with that.”
In the interview, Frank goes on to discuss his perfectionist ways when it comes to his music, upcoming projects that include his new album, working with Alicia Keys and Beyonce, and the new film "Django Unchained."
Hopefully he’ll drop some new tunes before the year is up.
