Nicki Minaj Talks About The Hardest Part Of ‘American Idol’

By Henna Kathiya

It turns out that beef with Mariah Carey isn’t the hardest part of American Idol for Nicki Minaj.

In a recent interview with E! News the Pink Friday star said that it’s actually the routine of it that makes it hard.

“They're very long days," she said. “I’m not really used to having to show up somewhere at a specific time.”

Nicki also explains what it is like having others depend on her. “I kind have been my own boss for a few years, so this is like adding discipline back in my life. This is adding that strict regime of having to do something. Everybody’s affected by what I do,“ the YMCMB rapper added.

Nicki even talks about her image to the public and why her fans may not know who she is outside of her persona.

“Like when they see me running around and changing wigs and being crazy and going ‘ah! Where’s the steamer?’ That’s you know- that lasts for a moment and then we’re like laughing and cracking jokes at each other like ten minutes later,” she explains.

A more in-depth look at Nicki Mnaj’s personal and professional life can be seen in her three-part series on E! called "Nicki Minaj: My Truth.”
